My Drum & Bass Track Production #2 - Individual Post 8

My Drum & Bass Track Production #2 - Individual Post 8

So here is my second video on the track I am working on for my music magazine freebie. I've not worked on it much since, but there is a few changes within the production so far and with it, I am happy with how it is sounding. Only got a little bit to do i'd say then it's done. But i'm having a whole lot of fun creating this production, as I do love to do it in my spare time when I get it.

If any one would like to provide feedback for me, then that would be amazing so I would know where to pick up from and where to learn and what to do. Hopefully in time to come as i've previously stated i'll be where I want to be soon, but just got to keep doing the little things to get by for what I need to do for making better music.

Typography, Fonts and Their effects on Magazines - Individual Post 7

Typography, Fonts and Their effects on Magazines - Individual Post 7

Typography has a major influence over magazines and how they are presented to the public and target audience in general. With the fonts used by companies, they need to make sure they use the appropriate fonts and type for their magazine, so it keeps in with the flow with the magazine and also relating to the magazines genre. I have made a video explaining what is typography, fonts and what their effects are on magazines. I hope you enjoy it.

As stated in the video, you can view this page which has a list of various font styles. Please follow the link and click here.

And also typography keywords, please click the link here.

InDesign Magazine Set Up - Task 27

InDesign Magazine Set Up - Task 27

As part of our magazine creation, for the last post, we as a class have been introduced to the design software: Adobe InDesign. I was introduced to how I will set up the magazine for when we create our own mock ups, and final magazine pieces. With the use of InDesign, it is much easier to structure and layout your magazine whilst working to creating a magazine, so it is good for the use of the program and it's capabilities.

Here are snap shots of the page structure document which will be the standard way of laying out an A4 magazine, along with the snap shots of what the set up will look like when we come to work with the magazine and all of the contents which surround it. It is a great way to also understanding how many magazine designers come to use this program when layering a magazine, so all of this is a great experience to be working with. Mock Up Picture W/ Nokia E72 (Contents & DPS) - Task 26

Mock Up Pictures W/ Nokia E72 (Contents & DPS) - Task 26

Once again, as part of my magazine research, I have took these pictures for the contents and double page spread of the magazine, for the mock up and idea of how I want both to be in terms of the images used. With this, I can draw the positives and negatives for looking at the pictures within a contents page and double page spread with the music magazine genre I have chosen.

With these mock up picture, I wanted to investigate and use a different type of technology for taking pictures. With this, I used my phone's camera which is the 'Nokia E72' which has a 5MPix camera. As much as this provides a good shot for the picture, I know that the Nikon Camera has much better quality for taking pictures and that is it's function. But I wanted to investigate and compare to see what is good and what is bad, and how it can affect my research and develop my magazine overall.

To view the image below, click the image to make it bigger. The picture provides what I think are the pro's and con's of the picture taken, and the analysis is also provided for the image overall.

Mock Up Pictures W/ Nikon Camera (Front Cover) - Task 25

Mock Up Pictures W/ Nikon Camera (Front Cover) - Task 25

As part of my magazine development, and now coming into the process of developing my own magazine, a task set out by our media teachers was to take some mock up pictures for the music magazine we are creating. I wanted to get the similar style of pictures to the magazines I have looked at and researched so I can draw some similarities and keep the same flow of the magazines In the genre I am doing.

With my mock up pictures, I decided to take only 2 photo's and with this was using a Nikon Camera. By using this camera, I was able to get high quality shots, so when I come around using similar pictures with the same quality, they can be used more efficiently. Also, since I did not provide any prop's for these pictures, I used the student within the photo in his school uniform, but when I consider taking my actual photo's in my magazine, the model I'll be using will have prop's within it.

Here is the image of my analysis of the 2 images I used for my development. I went over the pro's and con's of each picture. You can view it by clicking it so the image enlarges to view it.

Risk Assessment For Production - Task 24.5

Risk Assessment For Production - Task 24.5

For part of the production process I need to look at some of the risk which maybe involved within what I want to do for my magazine. I have made a note of some of the things which may occur during the production process along with the issues which may arise, the prevention to the issues and what the risk maybe. As part of my process for this, it is very important I make a note of this. Here is the table which the risk's made:

Adobe InDesign Introduction - Task 24

Adobe InDesign Introduction - Task 24

As part of our magazine development, we have been introduced to the program: Adobe InDesign. InDesign is primarily used for the structures of magazines, poster designs, flyers, newspapers, etc. The program makes it easier for the structure of the things said, but keep them at a high quality format, especially for printing, etc. It's a very technical program in the way it is displayed, but it's interface is very simple for the basics of structuring things, in this case my music video.

As opposed to Photoshop, I have minimal knowledge to Adobe InDesign, so I'll have to learn different things and experiment through this program, and get the things I wish to achieve using it. As part of our development within making these magazines, it is important that we experiment different with different programs as this will develop my own knowledge when creating a magazine. I have found an informative video around the basics of InDesign. With this video, it teaches the basic uses and features within the program.

Photoshop Blending Tutorial - Individual Post 6

Photoshop Blending Tutorial - Individual Post 6

Here is a video of the basics of blending within photoshop. There is a lot more to it, but I decided to keep it basic and simple for people who have had no experience. It is just narrowing down how to blend images within another image, more specifically the image manipulation side of things.

In this video, I decided to blend my face into my friends face, and vice versa. With this, hopefully people can understand and use the tools used for this blending efficiently and use the tools to speed up their work flow. For me, I find blending very experimental, and what works for you, works for you. But hopefully this video gives you an insight of how blending works!

My Drum & Bass Track Production - Individual Post 5

My Drum & Bass Track Production (WIP) - Individual Post 5

For my music magazine, I'm going to create a track basing around it, and possibly for it. I'm a fairly novice producer, but I do it in my spare time, as my main passion is creating art, and designs, etc. But I do hope to get better at producing music in time to come, as I'd love to go some where with it. But this track I am making is a current work in progress, and I'll make various blog posts about it about the creation, and how it is sounding.

I am using the program Logic Pro (9.1.8) to create the production. I'm going for a liquid D&B styled track, using piano's and generally having a soulful sounding track. I haven't hardly produced a lot, so going for this style was easy for me to attempt, as I've made some attempts before . Still got lots to add for this production! But I really want to create a soulful track, with a lot of atmo', soul, etc. Can't wait to see how it all comes out!
